Continuing its efforts to increase its market share in the smartphone industry, OnePlus is gearing up for a critical January. The Chinese company is set to unveil flagship models such as the OnePlus 12, 12R, and Ace 3 this month. Recently, an official announcement was made regarding the 12R model, revealing its technical specifications. So, what features can we expect from this smartphone?
OnePlus 12R features a 5,500mAh battery and LTPO 4.0 display
OnePlus, in its latest update, disclosed the screen and battery features of the 12R model. According to the announcement, the smartphone will come equipped with LTPO 4.0 technology to enhance screen efficiency and performance. The panel will support 120Hz refresh rates and ProXDR technology, featuring a punch-hole design.
Another detail shared about the device is its battery capacity. The 12R will include a 5,500mAh battery with SuperVOOC fast charging support. While charging speeds have not been revealed yet, previous leaks suggest that users will have access to 100W wired charging.
According to reports so far, the smartphone will be powered by last year’s flagship processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Built on a 4nm architecture, this chipset includes 1x 3.36 GHz ARM Cortex-X3, 2x 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A710, 2x 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A715, and 3x 2.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A510 cores, along with an Adreno graphics unit.
On the back, a triple-camera setup will be featured, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary IMX890 sensor with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32-megapixel telephoto sensor. On the front, there will be a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Finally, it’s worth noting that the official unveiling of the OnePlus 12R is scheduled for January 23rd.
